Organisation

KS3 and KS4

  • There are 10 teaching groups per year group
  • The groups are split into 2 bands – O and S
  • The bands are equal ability with 5 classes on each band
Year 9
  • Pupils are taught in mixed ability groups for art, drama, music, PE, technology and Skills for Life
  • Pupils are taught in sets for the other subjects in the following groupings:
    • Maths and Computer Science 
    • English and Humanities (History, Geography and RS)
    • Science
    • Spanish
    • French or Key Skills

The science of food demonstrated through a variety of more advanced practical dishes

‘Festival Headgear’ Use textiles skills and techniques to design and make festival headgear. Smart and modern materials are also explored.

Product Design

Design and make ‘Boom Box’ project develops practical and design skills. Focus on independent progress.

All pupils study each of these three areas of technology throughout the year on a rotation basis.
