General points regarding homework and learning outside of the classroom:

  • Homework will typically last for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Teachers should set homework tasks with a minimum 3-day completion window allow students time to manage their time effectively.
  • Homework should either support current learning through review, extension or exam practice or it should consolidate prior learning taught earlier in the curriculum.
  • Homework detentions are issued to students in Years 7 & 8 for non-completion of homework tasks. The detention will be given on the day that the homework was due to be collected. Homework concerns in Years 9 to 11 will be addressed by individual departments.
