Statement of Intent
Business Studies
At Ormskirk School our vision is to foster a generation of young entrepreneurs who possess the knowledge, skills and ethical mindset to thrive in the dynamic world of business. We aim to provide an immersive and stimulating learning experience that ignites curiosity, develops critical and reflective thinkers and a passion for enterprise. Our goal is to equip them with the confidence, resilience and adaptability necessary to succeed in an ever-changing global marketplace. Our curriculum is designed for all students including SEND learners. It nurtures creativity, collaboration and innovation which are key employability skills for all of our students. We strive to inspire our students to become visionary leaders who drive positive change and make meaningful contribution to the business world.
Through our business curriculum we build future business leaders and entrepreneurs who foster a mindset to pursue opportunities and overcome challenges.
Economics
The aim of our curriculum is to develop an understanding of Economics on a local, national, and international scale. To provide our students with an understanding of their place in a dynamic and evolving global economy. We encourage students to challenge classical hypotheses of rationality and perfect markets, and to consider the role of institutions which seek to correct market failures and promote economic growth. In a world of big data, the economics curriculum also ensures that our students are well place to understand, interpret and extrapolate the truth that lies hidden within such data.
