Headteacher's Blog

Friends of Ormskirk School,

The A Level and GCSE exams have now been completed and our Year 11s and Year 13s can now have a well-earned rest!

The Year 11 Leavers Ball was absolutely fantastic and a fitting end to five years of hard work for that Year group at Ormskirk School.  Everyone looked brilliant.  Thank you to the Year 11 team for organising such a superb evening.

The Year 7 and Year 8 Oscers ceremony was a wonderful evening and the young people were a credit to the school and their families.  Thank you to all the families who came to support, the atmosphere was truly lovely.

Over the past two weeks I received some lovely news about the young people who attend Ormskirk School, it really is wonderful what our young people do in the community.  One who deserves a special mention is our Head Boy, who represented the north of England in rugby union, and played at Twickenham on Sunday 9/6/19. This is massive achievement for a young man of 18, who has played since he was 5.  He rose to the occasion and converted 3 tries and scored 6 points!  A wonderful achievement and a true credit to his school and college.

Please may I ask parents and carers  to remind young people that we do not allow mobile phones in school at all and earphones should only be used as part of planned activities using iPads.  If any phones or earphones are seen (other than earphones being used in the manner just described) they must be handed in at reception for collection at the end of the day.

Thank you all for your continued support.
