A warm welcome to Ormskirk School and Sixth Form College.

It is an absolute privilege to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Ormskirk School. I am truly excited to have been given the opportunity to lead this wonderful school.

When I first visited the school, and on the numerous occasions I visited after I was appointed, I was struck by the enthusiasm and friendliness of the whole school community – it truly felt like a family.

At Ormskirk School, we value the traditions and values of the past and we look to embrace the best of current evidence based practice.

As a school, we are asking to be excellent in all that we do and my underlying principle is, ‘If it is not good enough for my own children, it is not good enough for the young people at Ormskirk School’.

Ormskirk School is, once again, over subscribed for September 2019 - as we have been for many years.

Our overall aim is to ensure that our young people are well educated, well rounded, confident, secure, respectful and take pride in their appearance.

Without exception, our expectations are high, in terms of achievement, conduct, appearance and manners, and we expect all of our young people to live up to these expectations.

Ormskirk School's parents and carers matter to us. After all, they know their children better than anyone. We try our best to make sure that our climate and culture is as open as possible and that our ethos is about family and togetherness for a shared purpose. We see our parents and the community as true partners, working together to achieve the best for the young people of Ormskirk School.

As a school, we believe attendance and punctuality to school is vital and is a skill for life.

The extra-curricular activities on offer across the whole school are truly outstanding with opportunities for the young people of Ormskirk School to excel in many different areas. Trips, expeditions and many student leadership opportunities are part of everyday life at Ormskirk School.

Our aim is to be an outstanding school ‘across the board’ and we have an excellent platform from which to build.

We are deeply committed to making sure that each and every young person in our school family leaves us at the end of their time with us with the very brightest of futures and the very happiest of school memories.

With best wishes to you all
