Please may we remind all parents/carers about the importance of ensuring that pupils are kept safe as they arrive to and leave from school.
The school site is closed at the end of the day to ensure that the large number of school buses can be safely brought on to the site to collect the pupils who use these. The site is then open from approximately 3.30pm as the buses leave. This allows cars to come safely on to site to collect pupils. Pupils can use the school library as a safe and convenient space to wait for parents to collect them, so they do not have to wait outside.
At present, we are concerned that a number of cars are parked illegally outside of the school and are creating a hazardous situation for traffic and pedestrians.
We would urge parents/carers who need to use their cars to transport pupils, to come to school at the slightly later time at the end of the day, so that they can then come on to the site and not find themselves trying to park in a congested situation on the highway or in restricted residential areas, which could lead to action by enforcement officers.
Local Councillors have advised us of  the County Council’s car sharing scheme, if this offers further assistance; details are available via . Perhaps some parents may be able to make their own shared arrangements to support each other in transporting their children to and from school.
Everyone shares the same priority of keeping our young people safe and we thank you for your support in this matter

Parking message from Ormskirk Police

A number of complaints have been received from local residents in regards to parking outside school in the morning and afternoon. Please park considerately; it’s not fair to local residents to have vehicles parked across the entrance to their driveway. Do not park on the yellow zig zag markings, single or double yellow lines when picking up and dropping off. The restrictions have been put in place to protect the safety of the pupils and other road users. Neighbourhood officers will be monitoring the parking at school times and any contravention of the restrictions may well result in a £30 fixed penalty notice.

Thank you for your anticipated support.
