Assistant Head of Year

  • Required as soon as possible
  • Permanent, part time contract, 37 hours per week, term time plus 6 working days
  • Grade 6, SCP 11-19 (£21,166 - £24,799) pro rata
  • Working hours: 8:00pm - 4:00pm
    This post requires some flexibility in working hours when occasional school events may be scheduled to take place after 4pm.

 

We wish to appoint a highly-skilled, experienced and adaptable Pastoral Manager to join our pastoral team working together to create an effective learning environment in the school, undertaking an integral role in implementing the schools’ behaviour policy.

If appointed, you will be expected to support pupils at Ormskirk School, enabling their personal growth and social development and academic achievement.  This will be achieved by working alongside a Head of Year to identify and address barriers to learning for groups and individual pupils within a year group. 

Ideally applicants should possess relevant qualifications to at least NVQ3 level, have past experience of using behaviour management strategies with young people, supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and working effectively as part of a team.    

This is an extremely important role in a vibrant and busy secondary school.  The role demands a high level of professionalism and resilience alongside excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.  We are seeking to appoint someone who can demonstrate high levels of tact, diplomacy, discretion and the ability to respect confidentiality at all times.
