Temporary Full-time Teacher of Religious Education with KS3 Geography

  • Required from 1st September 2019
  • This is a fixed term temporary contract from 1st September 2019 to 31st August 2020
  • MPR1 £23,720 – MPR6 £35,008 (subject to pay review Sept 2019)

 

We would like to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of Religious Education who also has the ability to teach Key Stage 3 Geography. We are looking for an effective and enthusiastic classroom teacher who has a real passion for the subject and will be able to complement our existing team of dedicated practitioners. The agreed aim of the department amongst the staff, is to enable students to make good progress in their learning but also to have a wider impact in the culture of the school community.

Ormskirk School was formed in September 2001 as a result of the merger of Ormskirk Grammar School and Cross Hall School. The school is consistently oversubscribed with an admission number of 250. There is significant continual investment in ICT ensuring access to the latest technologies in every classroom. All pupils have access to iPads, with parents’ support the vast majority have their own device for use both in school and home. All teaching staff have personal use of a laptop and iPad. Every classroom has a projector and interactive whiteboards are available in each department. We have outstanding facilities and excellent students.

The successful candidate should have excellent subject knowledge, with a creativity and passion about sharing that knowledge with our pupils. You will be committed to attaining the highest standards and expecting excellence from our young people. The successful candidate must be an excellent classroom practitioner and be willing to contribute to the development of both the Religious Education and Geography departments, as well as being keen to share good practice.
