Career North, a local company, provide our students with high quality careers advice and guidance. Our Careers Advisers, Marisa Sixsmith and Zack North (both Level 6 qualified experienced advisers), are available to provide independent careers advice and guidance in the Careers Room by the dining room. They will discuss post-16/18 options and offer students a wide range of impartial information and guidance, as well as assist them with their applications. Students can book an appointment at any time through their Progress Tutor.

Students have access to a wide variety of careers based literature in the Careers Room and LRC. Prospectuses from all of the local colleges and training providers are available to students online or to take away, alongside an array of vocational information detailing routes through apprenticeships and traineeships. We also have a range of prospectuses from universities across the country. In addition students have access to computers before school, at break time, lunchtime and after school to research career pathways, compose CVs and fill out application forms online.

Ormskirk School is committed to providing the highest quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance for all students in Years 7-11/13. We will continue to encourage and support our students to access personal development programmes and post-16/18 summer programmes such as the National Citizen Scheme.

We will seek to ensure that the provision we provide is bespoke to each students' individual need whether that be age, ability or educational, and that it is underpinned by equality and opportunity.

We aim to successfully embed the Gatsby Good Careers Guidance Benchmarks in our school:
